Lucy (his axe) has infinite durability and cuts wood faster, therefore it's a great advantage for Woodie.
You can prevent Woodie's transformation during the full moon. Just enter the cave before nightfall and the moon's effect won't affect you.
If you lose Lucy, make a regular axe and chop any tree with it; your axe will instantly transform into her. This makes it very easy to recover her.
Woodie has a higher chance of spawning Tree Guards in his human form. In his Beaver form, he never spawns them. Therefore, use this to your advantage if you want to summon or avoid Tree Guards.
Two monster meats (approximately) are enough for you to randomly transform with Woodie.
Explore the seas as quickly as possible at the beginning of the game because avocado and seaweed are wonderful foods that provide sustenance in all seasons.
Woodie in moose form with Wortox to help heal him becomes very strong. He can tank many bosses considerably well.
