In this video, I explain the function of the phase tester and why it's also called a phase cheat or lie detector.
If the phase tester is touched at the end while it's in contact with a phase conductor, a current of 18 microamperes can flow through the phase tester and the body to ground. For my measured voltage of 232 VAC, the following resistance value can be calculated using the formula R=U/I:
approx. 12.9 megohms
