Apple vs Google: Apple Search Engine, iOS 15 update Spotlight Search
In this Video:
Google has been dominating the search industry for almost a decade. Microsoft and other private search engines battling Google for search market share for years. But this time google may lose its large market share. Because Apple is going to launch its own search engine.
Apple may be searching the web content itself for You. instead of google in the future. It’s all over the air. In their recent iOS15 update announcements it’s quite clearly an indication that they are bypassing Google search for their products. They have changed the spotlight search.
Also, Google has been paying billions of dollars to Apple to remain the company’s default search engine on Safari. However, a Coywolf report said in July that the deal between the apple and google is coming to end soon. So, Apple may be looking to expand its arrangements and making the products completely private with its own search engine. Another significant indication is Applebot, the Web crawler. The rate of crawling sites by applebot has increased as well. Also, they have recently updated some sections of the applebot support page like how to verify traffic from Applebot, Expanded details on the Applebot user agent, Expanded robots.txt rules, etc.
Also, when their agreement ends with Google, it seems a good option for Apple to go for their own search engine because they have such an advanced online assistant i.e. Siri as well as iCloud technology. So, they seem much capable of creating their own search engine instead of depending on Google or others, even if they are paying them.
Now, Some of you might be wondering why Apple needs to create its own search engine. I mean what's the rush? Just remember, they always prefer their own self-branding and privacy. That’s their top priority. Apple search engine will likely function as a more personalized data hub. It may look similar to Google Assistant but will be different in sense of no ads, and more privacy, and have significantly deeper integrations with the OS. Apple may see more benefits of its own search engine as it will promote their own apps and content to a much higher rate like their apple news and apple tv. So, basically with this step, they may feel more secure towards their growth than before.
But, At this point, all these speculations and ideas are based on just observations. They may never release a search engine or might have some other plans. Who knows... Only they are gonna reveal it themselves when they are ready.
