One of the most famous and colorful reefs in the Puerto Aventuras region is the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, which stretches along the entire Caribbean coast in the state of Quintana Roo. This reef is considered the second largest in the world after the Great Barrier Reef in Australia. It is home to hundreds of species of coral and fish, making it an ideal diving site.
