99-02 1999 2000 2001 2002 Mercury Cougar Windshield Wiper Motor Replacement
This is a rare non computer video. I go through the basics of replacing the windshield wiper motor on a 2002 Mercury Cougar. My wipers worked correctly on low & high but the intermittent wipers would stop halfway through a complete wiping cycle. If I went to clean the wipers, the wipers would continuously wipe on the low speed until I shut off the car. I replaced the relay, central timer and wiper control switch but my wiper issues still existed. I briefly go over that in the video as well. Getting the wiper arms and motor off the assembly will take time and patience as they're very tightly fastened. My wiper motor was very tightly attached to the wiper transmission. Its a far from perfect video that is very short, but it should go a long ways. Other Fords and Mercurys from this era probably have a similar setup.

Tools needed:
8, 10, 12 & 14mm sockets
Extensions for sockets. Short and long.
Phillips head screwdriver
T30 Torx bit
Something to remove the motor from the wiper transmission. I used a combination of a vice grips and hammer. It's probably not the best option but that's what I had on hand.
