On January 23rd 2014 I filmed several clips in the City as part of a film 'Grain will be the new gold' As I watched the film again tonight, I now realise my words here were warning of the crisis which is being outworked in the world right now. I questioned the then Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs on the loss of Britain's formerly huge strategic grain stores around the country. "What would happen in the event of a major crisis which brought about food shortages" I asked. The government official's answer: "We'll rely on the markets and our friends in Europe to supply"
