During the Fujiama Atari8bit meeting in Saxony (Lengenfeld) Insane/Rabenauge was working very hard on finishing SymbOS VM, a new virtual platform for SymbOS, while I was finishing the screen driver for this crazy "platform". This includes breaking the 256pixel barrier for the Y-resolution, which is a big step forward as well, as now SymbOS supports all resolutions which you can imagine.
SymbOSVM provides a virtual hardware environment for the Z80 based SymbOS multitasking operating system with a very thin lightweight layer to the host-hardware and a f*king powerfull and flexible blitter for doing the screen output. Somehow you could say, that SymbOS is now working directly on a modern 32/64bit hardware, using crazy high screen resolutions.
SymbOSVM is using SDL and will be available for InsaneOS (by Insane), Windows, Linux and Genode.
Updates and downloads will be available soon!
