No trip to the National Aquarium would be complete without paying a special visit to our sea turtle, Calypso!
In 2000, this juvenile turtle was found stranded in the Long Island Sound with a severely infected left front flipper, which later had to be amputated to save her life. In the years since, Calypso has grown over 400 pounds and has inspired millions to do their part to protect her species!
