Computer Science - Careers in Science Speakers Series
In celebration of Year of Science, Langara College held a Careers in Science Speakers Series. This one is Computer Science specific.
Speaker: Dr. David Ascher
Dr. Ascher is CEO of Mozilla Messaging, a public benefit organization focused on ensuring that communications on the internet remain open to all, innovative, and under user control. Prior to this, David accumulated a mix of industry and academic experience, including a Bachelors of Science in Physics, a Ph.D. in Cognitive Science and a post-doctoral fellowship in vision research, along with various positions in the software industry. David simultaneously believes that people should avidly pursue higher education endeavors, and that degrees matter less than people think, and he'll try to explain how he holds these two thoughts simultaneously.
