Why Nypatch® is Important For Rigid Coupling Installation
Many designers only consider the up-front cost of a rigid coupling instead of the total cost, including assembly. Ruland uses a proprietary anti-vibration coating called Nypatch® on clamp rigid coupling hardware. It prevents screws from galling, allows for multiple screw insertions, and reduces the risk of screws coming loose during operation. Other manufacturers require you to apply a similar thread locker upon receipt of the coupling. This can add assembly time, significantly increasing the total cost of the part. In this video, we demonstrate an installation with Nypatch® and without Nypatch®.
