Commando (1985) is the story of an ex military ranked official trying to fight for his life and the life of his daughter.
Arnold Schwarzenegger plays John Matrix, a retired special forces soldier looking to keep his privacy in tact and live his life in peace with his daughter. Living on a large property outside of any main city, Matrix wants to live in isolation. This peace is disturbed by his previous military commander, Franklin Kirby.
Kirby comes looking for Matrix to let him know his private information may have been leaked to an unknown group who are eliminating his old squad one by one, expecting him to be the next victim. Matrix is then attacked by the assailants and his daughter is kidnapped and he is held hostage. Matrix is provided an ultimatum; go to another country and destabilise the government he helped into power or be eliminated along with his daughter.
Matrix heads on his way, on a plane with a handler - destined to be 12 hours long. Schwarzenegger manages to escape his captors and from the plane before it takes off properly. He then sets out to find out where they are hiding his daughter by eliminating each member of the perpetrators. Eliminating these members yields him the clues he needs to find the location where his daughter is being held. Along the way he finds company in someone he initially kidnaps and steals her car.
Matrix's daughter is held on an island off the coast of California, which is heavily fortified. Lucky John has brought an incredible arsenal along with him and the skills to wield such firepower. Matrix attacks the fortified stronghold that his daughter is held in and a lot of fire fights ensue.
John is able to find his daughter after getting rid of his previous subordinate who has been involved in the kidnapping of his daughter. He saves her and walks out victorious with her on his shoulders triumphantly.
