Xbox Minecraft Behind the Scenes Doctor Who Roller Coaster - Original Map
So I came across this footage...I thought it was share worthy.
What you are seeing is a test run. I do test runs like this constantly during a map build. I do it to keep time with music & make sure the project progresses according to plan. This was the final test run on this specific map. The Xbox game save became corrupted for unknown reasons shortly after recording this footage. I estimate the work lost, as we build block by block on the xbox, was about a month's worth. However, those are random man hours spread out over thirty days. The loss of the map was a real blow to the Doctor Who project and made me rethink building Minecraft roller coasters at all. It is tedious work & it's loss prompted a month break from building to consider if it was worth starting over again. The answer was yes and I am glad we did because I changed a lot of how the beginning of the ride looked & felt and am very happy with the final results.
Having a vision and seeing it through to completion is one of the most satisfying aspects of creating these maps & videos.
BTW I decided not to voice over the dialogue because for me it distracts from the experience. I would be willing to do a voice over explanation of things in a separate video if there is a demand for it.
