Generics in Java are the advanced feature that helps to achieve code reusability and type safety. The code reusability functionality in java is managed by defining generic classes, interfaces, constructors, methods. Generic uses the data type declaration for a type safety feature that helps to eliminate the run time error.
A generic type is a class or interface that is parameterized over types, meaning that a type can be assigned by performing generic type invocation, which will replace the generic type with the assigned concrete type.
It makes the code stable.Java Generics methods and classes, enables programmer with a single method declaration, a set of related methods, a set of related types. Generics also provide compile-time type safety which allows programmers to catch invalid types at compile time.
Following are the rules to define Generic Methods − All generic method declarations have a type parameter section delimited by angle brackets ( and ) that precedes the method's return type ( E in the next example). Each type parameter section contains one or more type parameters separated by commas.
