Dark Cloud - PAL Version Glitch Menu Trigger
I finally found a way to get into the glitch menu in the PAL version of Dark Cloud after all this time. Finding this wasn't easy. In the American version, simply accessing the 3rd tutorial in the manual and using the Right&X trick along with R1 would get you the glitch menu item.
But after checking all 2240 possible glitch items obtainable with the Right & X trick in the PAL version, I didn't find anything. So I had to find a way to change what one of those glitch items does, and I eventually found a broken dagger that changes into the glitch menu item when you place certain objects next to Divine Beast Cave, then waiting for a very specific time to go to Gaffer's.
When you place the Hag's house, then the trees in the spots shown in the video, go to Divine Beast Cave then immediately leave. When you get back to Nolun Village, do not move or move the camera at all. Wait for the game to say "Adventure Day X - Night". After it says that, count to 6 seconds the moment you see Nolun Village fade back in when the message goes away, then press select. If done correctly, the game will write the following value to the address 002B3BA0 (202B3BA0 in Cheat Engine): 42 02 E2 68 C0 04 57 FC. That address is the function for the item with the hexadecimal value 6767.
The 8th byte (FC) determines which item inventory the item belongs to. It also determines which set of items it's using. The game thinks All Items with the FC set go to the glitch menu. They are also usually have random colored squares that would freeze the game on console. The 3rd & 4th Byte is the icon used for that item. If the 3rd byte (E2) has a hexadecimal value between 80 & FF, the item will have no icon at all, and that will prevent the item from freezing the game whenever it's on screen.
