Tekbond Acrylic Baseboard and Crown Molding Adhesive - 🔶 Olimpico Construction Materials 🔷
TEKBOND Baseboard & Cornice Fix is a water-based, extra-strong, high-performance acrylic adhesive. Specially developed to replace nails in bonding cornices, moldings, baseboards, crown molding, chair rails, and rosettes, it has good adhesion to plaster, polystyrene (*Isopor® - registered trademark of Knauf Isopor Ltda), wood, MDF, and plastic (except polyethylene and polypropylene). It can also be used for caulking wooden furniture. Key features include excellent initial adhesion allowing for vertical bonding, resistance to temperature variations, low odor, and the ability to be sanded and painted after drying.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:
1. Clean and thoroughly dry the surfaces where the adhesive will be applied.
2. Cut the tip of the cartridge.
3. Screw on the applicator nozzle and cut the tip at a 45° angle.
4. Place the cartridge in the applicator gun (the gun is not included with the product).
5. Apply the adhesive to the desired area, holding the gun at a 45° angle.
6. Apply two beads of adhesive along the length of the profile, 1.5 cm from the sides, to the surface that will be in contact with the wall.
7. Apply the adhesive in dots or in a bead pattern (for vertical applications).
8. Join the parts and press for about 1 minute or until they are bonded. Use Tekbond Double-Sided Tape for initial fixation until the adhesive is fully cured. For heavy pieces, use a support or wedge.
9. Remove excess adhesive immediately after application with a damp cloth.
Once opened, use the product within four weeks. Initial curing time is 20 to 30 minutes. Complete drying time is 24 to 96 hours, depending on weather conditions. Remember: For the first 12 hours, avoid contact with water during application.
LIMITATIONS OF USE:
Not suitable for bonding in constantly humid environments or where there is direct contact with water, locations exposed to sunlight, glass bricks, and bathtubs. Testing should be done before application on masonry, aluminum, and metals.
Not recommended for outdoor use.
