In The Sims 1, cleaning is a skill that Sims can improve upon. When cleaning the toilet, Sims will first lift up the toilet seat and clean with a toilet brush. In The Sims 2, when cleaning a dirty toilet, Sims will first lift up the toilet seat, then start cleaning with a toilet brush. After they're done, they'll put the lid back down and the toilet is clean again. In The Sims 3, Sims will lift up the toilet seat, then start cleaning the toilet with a toilet brush. After it's clean, they'll put the toilet seat down and flush. In The Sims 4, Sims won't clean the toilet like in the previous Sims games. In Sims 4, Sims use a soapy sponge to scrub the dirt. The green mist and flies will disappear.
