LOSTsim Teaser Trailer
Okay you got me, LOSTsim has been around for a while so this is less of a teaser and more of a trailer. Every year I try to do something special on September 22nd to celebrate the airing of the first episode of Lost (which also happens to be the date of the Oceanic flight 815 plane crash). Usually I release an update for TheSWAN, but this year to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the show I have created a trailer in the style of my all time favourite video game, Portal.
I first saw the Portal teaser trailer the year before the game's launch in 2006, which was also around the same time that LOST's second season aired and I started building the first version of TheSWAN (which use to be called "Push The Button"). I must have watched that trailer a hundred times waiting for the game to be released. I remember there was a viral website to help promote the game (similar to the alternate reality games that the Lost creators used between seasons), where users had to interact with a green and black computer screen to unlock hidden clues, mysteries and secrets. It was easy to draw similarities between Aperture Science and the DHRAMA Initiative.
Portal was created by Valve Corporation, who also created the Half Life games, and in one of the games players can discover a room with a DHARMA logo on the wall and a computer displaying the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42. And the loopy connections don't stop there - now there are rumours that J. J. Abrams is in talks with Valve to develop a film adaptation of the game!
So here is my fusion of two things I love, I hope you enjoy.
