The Tortured Poets Department isn’t actually all about Joe & Matty 🤯 HOT TAKE
I don’t know how many of you all will agree with me on this, but I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts! I think this album more so than a lot of Taylor’s other albums feels extraordinarily personal to me. Especially in like of the last three albums, which were all cloaked under one guise or another. The Tortured Poets Department really does feel like she is sitting on an operating table and letting everyone peer at her open chest and beating/breaking heart. WOAH. The more time I spend with these songs, the more certain I am that this album isn’t about the men. It’s about the journey our girl took to put herself back together.
