We’re grateful of the opportunity to live and work online from Gozo, Malta after successfully applying for the Nomad Residence Permit (a type of digital nomad visa).
In this video, I’m sharing what it’s really like to live and work online from Gozo. This is a typical day - nothing super eventful or exciting; it’s an ordinary day. It’s meant to show you what it’s like to work online from a foreign country and experience life there.
You’ll see how we breakfast - slow and unhurried. All before work begins. My husband goes out early to buy what we need for our home-cooked meals. Fresh, seasonal and local as much as possible. Here in Gozo it’s abundant and easy to get seasonal organic produce from local farmers.
Then we prepare mid-morning snacks to nibble on while we work - my husband as a software developer and myself on my online business.
We head out to catch up with a friend who also shares a flexible schedule like us. (She’s not featured in for privacy reasons).
Back home (nomad nest), I shell fresh peas, and we cook lunch together from scratch using what we have. As we have a long list of food allergies, intolerances, and sensitivities, it’s important for us to know what we put into our bodies and the stress-free way to do that is to make our meals ourselves.
After a delicious lunch together at home - again unhurried - we head out for a walk in the Gozitan countryside. Even though it’s a winter day (January, one of the coldest months) we enjoy sunny days and clear skies from the mild Mediterranean climate.
A quick business call in the countryside of Gozo and we continue with our nature walk.
That wraps up a day in the life in Gozo. I hope that you see what it’s like for us as digital nomads. It’s not that our life and our day is better - it’s how we intentionally choose to live our days and how we prioritize the things that matter to us.
