Matt Strassler is a theoretical physicist and writer. He researches physics of the Large Hadron Collider, quantum field theory, and particle physics. He has written a book called "Waves in an Impossible Sea" aimed at explaining how the Higgs field actually gives mass to fundamental particles. He shows why most explanations are flat out false, and instead offers a much more satisfying explanation staying faithful to the underlying theory.
