Footprints - a tribute to Wayne Shorter
It was a huge loss for us all when Wayne Shorter passed away last week. He was an absolute giant in the music world, and especially in the jazz community. Almost 20 years ago, I had the good fortune to perform with him while in grad school at USC. He was on a whole different level...
I spent some time a few days ago in my hotel room/mobile studio, recording one of his best known songs, called "Footprints". It certainly captured my mood, and I hope it is a fitting tribute.
