Film direction Documentary" The ARMANS, from the famous Manakia to I’m not famous…"{ released in 2015
Film direction of “I’m Not Famous but I’m Aromanian” the first feature film in Aromanian, released in 2013;
For film:
“I’m not famous but I’m Aromanian”, released in 2013, ranked 5th in Romania’s Box Office of Romanian productions of 2013.
It has been screened at numerous national and international film festivals and has won several awards:
*Best Balkan Spirit,at the Balkan Film and Food Festival in Pogradec, Albania, 2014;
*Premio “Unica”, of the Babel Film Festival in Sardinia, Italy, 2013, for Best Representation of a Linguistic Minority in a Film;
*the Award for Best Directorial Debut granted to Toma Enache by the Romanian Union of Authors and Filmmakers, Bucharest, 2013;
*the Award for Originality in promoting cultural identity at the International Ethnographic Film Festival in Zlatna, Romania, 2014.
After the film’s historic premiere in the United States, the Mayor of the city of New York, Bill de Blasio, declared June 5th as the Preservation Day of the Vlach/Aromanian Culture in New York.
The documentary “The Armans, from the famous Manakia to I’m not famous…” has so far received the following prizes and nominations:
