In this episode, we visited the Boott Cotton Mills' exhibition titled The Portuguese in Lowell: The Familiar and the New to discuss Portuguese migrant history in Lowell, the significance of the Azorean islands and how the current exhibit illustrates contemporary life for the Portuguese community particularly in the Back Central neighborhood, featuring interviews with Director of the Saab Program, Frank Sousa, and exhibit photographer Pedro Letria, who we interviewed remotely from Portugal.
The exhibit will be available to the public through to February 24th, 2025.
