3 ADV Bikes on the Northern California Backcountry Discovery Route, Day 1: CABDR North Section 1
The Northern California Backcountry Discovery Route is the newest of the BDR routes, released in 2024. This September, I set out with @BigRockMoto and @ADV_Agenda to tackle this 950-mile mostly unpaved journey on a trio of ADV bikes: a 2024 KTM 790 Adventure, 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800DE, and a Moto Morini X-Cape 650.

This motorcycle adventure trip was filled with beautiful vistas and backcountry motorcycle riding. Our adventure bikes did great (for the most part) and we ended up finishing the trip after six days on the trail, camping each night along the way.
Day one of the NorCal BDR started at Minaret Vista near Mammoth, CA and took us to Mono Lake before heading to the ghost town of Bodie, California. We ended the day in Bridgeport CA at the end of Northern California BDR Section 1.
