----------------- Today we're focusing on TIG welding, and more specifically on tungsten electrodes, which are used to transmit the electric arc to achieve fusion of your joint.
This is an important element that shouldn't be overlooked, which is why I'm presenting the different colors available depending on the metals you'll be welding. Fourteen colors are presented with explanations to understand their standardized names as well as the alloying elements (oxides) that compose them.
We also discuss the different diameters of tungsten electrodes available on the market, so you know which diameter you need to be properly equipped without breaking the bank.
Finally, we focus on sharpening, which is also very important. You'll see that the sharpening angle and direction of the tungsten electrode can impact weld quality and arc transmission.
