Ronald Reagan befriended Suzanne and this relationship led to Reagan meeting Mikhail Gorbachev at The Reykjavík Summit held in Reykjavík, Iceland, on 11–12 October 1986.Her advice to Reagan was to "Trust But Verify," which led to the INF Treaty that put American and Soviet inspectors in Russia and the USA, thereby reducing the threat of nuclear war.
