How did Chewbacca die? In legends, Lando Calrissian send Han and Chewbacca on a pickup mission to Sernpidal. During the mission, Han's son, Anakin Solo, calculates the moon Dobido was going to collide with the planet they were on in seven hours. This gave the crew very little time to get off the planet. As winds picked up, Anakin was swept away by a gust from the moon. Chewbacca raced after Anakin getting him to safety. But, another gush of wind knocked Chewbacca from getting aboard the Falcon. With Anakin piloting the ship, and Han at the entrance ramp hoping to get Chewbacca aboard. Han realized it was too late to save his wookie friend. Which lead to Chewbacca, getting crushed to death between the planet and moon.
