It's time to plan your YouTube videos for 2021!
Planning YouTube videos is one of the most helpful things you can do for your channel because it enables you to stay consistent and consistency is king on YouTube.
Whenever I start my YouTube Planning I start with a large notepad as I like to have a video content plan on paper first. It helps me come up with ideas better and be more creative.
With this process I'm about to share with you, you'll be able to come up with a whole YEAR's worth of content in just a few hours.
So many people are scared of creating content on YouTube because they think it will be hard to come up with great video ideas, but planning your video content for YouTube is simple if you follow my process.
I like to come up withy 52 video ideas for my channel so then I have one video being released on my channel every single week.
Follow along while I do this in today's YouTube Planning video.
To come up with content I start with the following content categories:
1) Days of the year - where I record all the significant days of the year on my calendar. Just doing this in the beginning is super helpful for inspiring YouTube content right then and there. For example New Years Day might inspire you to create a video on YouTube planning just like I'm doing in this video right here, because I know lots of people like getting organised and planning content at the start of the year.
It also made me think of some other cool topics such as mums in business I like to follow on YouTube for a Mother's Day video and I'm also going to do a collaboration video for 4th of July with one of my American friends because ... why not?
You may not even do a video on that particular holiday, but it could inspire a fun theme for your video that day. Watch out for me wearing a kitty headband on International Cat day - LOL
2) The next category that I like to pull from for my youtube content planner is my FAQ's - these are the questions you are asked constantly. Or find the questions people always ask in your niche in general. You should be able to come up with at least 10. I give further explanation and some examples in the video above.
3) Trends - this is something you may not be able to plan throughout the whole year as trends change and emerge all the time. But if there's a few that give you some ideas then write them down. For example more and more people are working from home and doing video conferencing and I have seen some people do it well and also there's been some big fails. I'm going to do a video teaching people how to look better on video conferencing/zoom calls and also a video on different Zoom backgrounds.
4) Other leaders - I like to look at other leaders in my niche and see what they're doing or what are their most popular video topics. This is NOT an invitation to copy someone. Instead, look at the topic idea and do a video on that topic with your own spin on it. Or better yet, do it 10 times better!
5) Keyword research - this is quite a big topic and I start my research by looking at various places. Watch the video to see exactly what I do. I'll also do another video on this topic to go even further in depth.
