As I’m sitting with today’s verse, it’s reminding me of all the other verses that have been speaking to me lately. I keep these with me and treat them like tools to remember my larger purpose.
James 2: faith without works is dead. This reminds me to believe in myself and apply the peace of God that’s already within me.
Romans 12: be transformed by the renewing of your mind. This reminds me that God is the mastermind working through me right now.
Matthew 6: don’t do good for the approval of others—and look at the lilies of the field. They don’t toil or spin, yet they’re taken care of.
Qur’an 2: whether you reveal what’s within you or conceal it, God will call you to account for it. That reminds me that integrity starts inside.
Alan Watts: Muddy water is best cleared by leaving it alone.
