From Tom's Guide

The iPhone 15 Pro could introduce a big change to Apple's premium phones — and we're not talking about the USB-C connectivity that's been tipped to replace the Lightning port in every iPhone 15 model. Instead, this change would be exclusive to the Pro models, and it would mean for a much tougher iPhone than ever before.

That's because it's possible Apple may use a titanium alloy as the metal of choice for the frame on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The move would figure to improve the durability of the new phone over previous models while also decreasing the weight. In addition to switching up the materials it uses for its Pro models, Apple's also expected to move away from the straight edges of recent iPhones for more rounded edges.

Once again, Apple is increasing the trade-in values of some of its products ahead of fall announcements. As first spotted by MacRumors, Apple is ready to hand out a bit more for some iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Watch models when customers trade them in for newer devices.

Interestingly enough, Apple has also decreased the value of some products after the iOS 17 announcement and new Macs became available. The iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus are now worth $10 less than before, while the Mac Studio is worth $75 less.

From iMore

iOS 17 was announced at WWDC 2023, and with it came the end of software updates for the iPhone X and iPhone 8, released in 2017.

A new report from SellCell suggests that the release of iOS 17 will see iPhone X and iPhone 8 models lose over 40% of their total value.

It looks like owners of the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and iPhone X should think about selling their devices sooner rather than later in anticipation of the release of the iPhone 15 alongside iOS 17 in September.

From New York Post

Apple announced it will permanently do away with the My Photo Stream album next month. The feature automatically stores pictures taken in the last 30 days.

Due to the impending shutdown, My Photo Stream stopped uploading snaps on June 26 — and everything in the album will be deleted when the service ceases July 26.

To ensure you do not lose any pictures, go into the My Photo Stream album in your camera roll and save your pictures to your device or to iCloud.

From The Verge

Google has found a fun new way to dunk on Apple with an ad campaign for Pixel phones that straddles the line between cute and cringe. The search giant has released five videos — under the campaign name “Best Phones Forever” — which depict sitcom-like interactions between anthropomorphized versions of the Pixel 7 Pro and some sort of iPhone Pro.

The iPhone is basically portrayed as an outdated, inexperienced dumb dumb across all of the videos. It’s a similar riff to Apple’s iconic “Get a Mac” campaign but with phones. And some weird, robotic sexual tension.
