To get started, we'll install a free extension called SheetGPT. This extension allows us to use AI directly in Google Sheets. Visit sheetgpt.ai, click "Install," and follow the simple steps to add the extension.
Once installed, open your spreadsheet and navigate to "Extensions." Search for "SheetGPT" and click "Enable" to activate the extension.
Now, let's summarize the text using AI. Select the cell next to the text you want to summarize and type "=GPT("Generate a brief summary of the following text: " followed by an ampersand symbol and the reference to the cell containing the text. Press enter to see the AI work its magic.
You can now copy this formula to summarize the text in other rows of your spreadsheet. It's a quick and efficient way to get summaries of your text data.
