Hello and welcome back to our channel. Today we're going to talk about a very important topic that many of us often forget in our lives.
It's about not forcing anything. And to help us understand this concept better, we'll be taking inspiration from the wise words of Alan Watts.
The meaning of the word "force" is not just to apply physical force, but it also means to try too hard,
to make something happen when it's not meant to be, to go against the natural flow of things. When we force things,
we often end up feeling stressed, anxious, and frustrated. We become so focused on the outcome that we forget to enjoy the process.
That's so true. We often get caught up in our desires and wants that we forget to live in the present moment.
We want to achieve things quickly, and we don't realize that some things take time.
Exactly. We need to understand that everything in life happens at its own pace.
We cannot force things to happen before their time. For example, if a tree is meant to bear fruit in the summer,
no amount of pulling and tugging on its branches will make it produce fruit in the winter. Similarly,
if we try to force a relationship or a career, it may not work out the way we want it to.
That's a great analogy. So how do we avoid forcing things in our lives?
Well, the first step is to let go of our need to control everything. We need to trust that the universe has a plan for us and that everything will work out in its own time. We need to learn to go with the flow and not resist the natural rhythm of life.
That's easier said than done. How do we learn to let go of control?
One way is to practice mindfulness. When we're mindful, we're fully present in the moment, and we're not distracted by our thoughts and emotions. We can learn to observe our thoughts and let them go, rather than getting caught up in them. This can help us to let go of our need to control things and to trust in the process of life.
That's a great suggestion. Mindfulness is something that we can all practice in our daily lives. Thank you so much for sharing your wisdom with us, Alan.
