MINI is a British automotive company brand owned by BMW. MINI-made cars compete in the small car class.
Mini itself was originally derived from a small car formerly known as the Morris Mini-Minor and Austin Seven, launched by the British Motor Corporation in 1959, then developed into a separate brand with various models, such as Clubman, Traveler and Moke. The original Mini 2 door car was still produced until 2000. A new model of this car was developed starting in 1995 and finally the model was launched in 2001.
