When Psoriasis Could be Psoriatic Arthritis
Penny Greenblatt was diagnosed with psoriasis, an autoimmune condition that primarily affects the skin, when she was 28 years old. In this video, she describes the symptoms she experienced, which also led to problems with her eyes, then to tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and issues with her joints, making her everyday activities increasingly difficult to do. Ultimately, she was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and began taking medications that provided relief. Penny urges psoriasis patients who notice joint pain and/or other unusual symptoms to tell their doctor, and, if they get a PsA diagnosis, to start treatment as soon as possible to ward off further deterioration.
