The Griffith Observatory sits on Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park in Los Angeles.
It was opened in 1935 and named after its benefactor, Welsh-American philanthropist, and mining magnate Colonel Griffith J Griffith. It gives a great view of the city, including Downtown LA, Hollywood, and even the Pacific Ocean.
Lots of tourists visit because you can see the famous Hollywood Sign and learn cool stuff about space and science.
