Without the electric blender we wouldn’t have crushed ice, soups, or smoothies. But blending is more difficult that you might think. It takes serious power to pulverise rock hard frozen fruit in seconds. An ingenious kitchen appliance design consists of 148 super strong components that work together to mix, crush, purée or emulsify food and other substances. At the heart of this blender sits an 1800-watt motor more powerful than some motorbikes. Inside a toughened plastic jug, a hardened metal driveshaft spins twin steel blades at hurricane speeds to pulverise everything in their path.
