The sea around Varandey is so shallow that big tankers can’t come into to dock, so the Russians pump oil 20 kilometres through a pipeline to a gigantic filling station in the middle of the Arctic ice!

Weighing in at over 93 thousand tonnes, the Russian oil tanker Timofey Guzhenko, is the largest icebreaking ship to operate in the Arctic Ocean. Can this behemoth of a ship dock at the oil terminal despite the massive moving ice sheet?
