Our friends at the Big Bear Solar Observatory east of Los Angeles shared this video of Mercury transiting the Sun on 11 November 2019. The patterns you see in the background are granules on the Sun's photosphere that have temperatures of about 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit (5,400 degrees Celsius)!
