This video will share some quick tips on growing and caring for your grapes and grape vines, including when the right time for harvest is. We’ll harvest and make some grape juice that you can either use as is or turn into grape jelly.
How to make jelly:
Measure your volume of juice. Taste cold to see the level of sweetness. You can make jelly with sugar - as much as a 1:1 ratio (too much for me) to no sugar at all. Just know that the less sugar, the more time to reach gel stage. You can also use pectin, but I never do.
Boil juice with desired sugar until gel stage. You can use temperature to know when you SHOULD be there (220 degrees), but always use the wrinkle test or the sheeting test. Both of my jam making videos will be helpful as will my Canning 101 for instructions on water bath processing or freezing your grape jelly. Links are below!
