How to Make a Model of Doric Capital
This demo is created for Life Drawing Academy Correspondence Course (https://lifedrawing.academy/correspon...) students, who receive unlimited personal tutoring. Among many topics, they also discover classical architectural orders and learn how to draw capitals. To do it from life, they make various models. In this video, I will show you how to make a paper model of a Doric capital.
The template for this model is provided free of charge to students Life Drawing Academy Correspondence Course. It is unique to this course and not available anywhere else. It comes as a PDF file that should be printed on thick paper, preferable 180 gsm at 100% scale on A4 sheets.
The front page provides full instructions on how to make this model. Just follow each step from one to six after watching this video. Apart from the template, you will also need a scalpel. Make sure to replace its blade as you need a perfectly sharp one. You will also need a metal ruler. In addition, you need a metal needle or some other tool to indent paper. And of course, to assemble a paper model, you need PVA paper glue.
