Graduate Existing 2x4 Wall To 2x6 For Better R21 Insulation
To grow the frame this old house that was initially framed with 2x4 I used the 2x3 lumber which I trimmed off 1/2" and left with a full 2". 2+3.5=5.5" which is the so called 2x6; good enough to accommodate R21 insulation.
