The History Of Buttons |
Did you know that the invention of buttons was used to make everyday people feel sexy? So buttons have been around for thousands of years, but they were mostly spherical and used for decorative purposes. In the Victorian era when form fitting clothes were coming into fashion only the elite could really rock the style because you had to sew the clothes around you and then rip it open after each wear.
The use of buttons though allowed people to get in and out of these clothes without. Sell them each time. This made buttons rise in fame and they also became flatter, which allowed people to paint things on them or even carve things into them before zippers. Buttons were used on everything, and there was even a tool called a button hook to help with the process.
