This is Corporal McDonnell of the St. Johns County Florida Sheriff’s Department. Many of you may remember Corporal McDonnell from when he arrested me for trespassing back in 2021 when I was doing the GBTHV outreach in front of the VA Clinic in my home town of Saint Augustine Florida. Like many cops Corporal McDonnell seems to have an ego fueled short fuse which led to his hasty arrest of me for trespassing which only resulted in me being un trespassed and un arrested about 30 minutes later after his cooler headed supervisor arrived. Recently a local man reached out to me regarding an interaction he had with Corporal McDonnell. The man alleges that Corporal McDonnell was driving reckless in pursuit of a motorist who was allegedly speeding. The man was concerned that Corporal McDonnell’s driving allegedly put the public in more danger than the alleged speeding motorist. So he stopped and approached Corporal McDonnell at the end of his traffic stop to get his name and badge number. After the traffic stop was over and Corporal McDonnell identified himself the man began to walk back to his vehicle. At that point every one could have gone on their way but as the man was walking back to his vehicle Corporal McDonnell’s ego kicked in. Corporal McDonnell detained the man, demanded his ID and threatened him with arrest. Let me know what you think of this interaction in the comments.
