This is my Shopify tutorial for creating a discount code that only applies to full price products and excluding any items that are already on sale or discounted. This will prevent any double dipping thus saving your hard-earned margins and profits!
I created this tutorial because still to date in 2021 there isn't a way of creating 'exclusions' within Shopify's critieras in either collections or discount codes sections. By a bit if reverse engineering we achieve this by creating a few automated collections and tagging them. It is a bit of a manual way, but absolutely free with no apps or coding required - you are in control!
