In this video, we take you to central Italy, to the magical Abruzzo Apennines, to discover the Gran Sasso d'Italia.
At first glance, it seemed as if the Marmolada were in the middle of the Apennines!
A limestone monolith very similar, in some respects, to the Dolomites.
This mountain gave us strong emotions.
In this video, we reach the eastern summit of Corno Grande, at almost 3,000 meters. To ascend, we reached the Franchetti refuge, starting from Prati di Tivo, where we parked.
From Franchetti, we followed the Ferrata Ricci, a fairly easy and not too long via ferrata that will lead us to the final ridge, which, with a few rocky sections, will open the door to the summit.
Descending, we entered the "cauldron" of the glacier of the same name (which is now sadly at the end of its days).
In the next video, we'll move to Corno Piccolo at sunset to experience a magical and colorful Apennine mountain experience :)
