This song is about a young woman in a village in the hills, so distraught and maddened by grief when she learns that her four brothers, two still in their teens, have all perished in a battle. She sees their bodies, but she cannot believe it. She cannot believe it.
She'd been told before of the magic parchment and the sacred glade, so in desperation, she makes ink out of the blood from their broken bodies and writes their names on the parchment. There, at night in the glade, she bade for their return, many times.
Onto this parchment she adds her own blood, and it works. She accepts that there needs to be a sacrifice.
As she falls from the cold and her own blood draining away, she sees, but cannot believe it, cannot believe it - her brothers emerging one by one from the parchment that had become a magic portal. The gloom lifts from her heart and she manages a weak smile.
Alas there is no magic in the world, and all that happens before her eyes is only her dying thoughts.
This is the tale inspired by Kate Bush's Wuthering Heights, a song so emotional and vivid, that haunted us when we were young once upon a time ago. And now UDIO has helped us realized the song, so fitting to the story, in the style of the 70s/80s. We hope this is an apt tribute to Kate.
