REDISCOVERING BUYA HAMKA ep 1
The Minangkabau region has produced many cultural figures, thinkers, writers, and religious scholars. In one corner of Minangkabau, a figure was born who fulfilled these roles. He not only played the role of a religious scholar but also a hero with numerous contributions. On February 17, 1908, the world knew him as Buya Hamka. Buya is a nickname for the Minangkabau people, derived from the Arabic word "Abi," while "Hamka" is an abbreviation of his full name, Haji Abdul Malik Karim Amrulloh. For Indonesia, Buya Hamka was no ordinary religious scholar; his writings have inspired millions. Buya Hamka's writings not only influenced the development of Islam but also impacted Indonesia's political landscape.
