7th EABF 2022 - designing tools for African users

Pablo explained that when we talk about Africa’s issues that can influence the acceleration of digital progress in the continent, we often refer to funding problems, lack of training and change of mindset. These are obviously key reasons to consider and work towards. However, generally we tend to disregard the actual tools which African young people and professionals use.
On this same panel, there were two major African speakers whose speeches are worth highlight in our opinion:
Marvel Nyama Gusona, Consultant for Youth Empowerment at UNICEF. She pointed out that in order to support African entrepreneurs, they should have a place at the table were decisions to help them are being made.
Hilda Kragha, MD at Roam Africa. She enumerated a few key points: education and redirection of those skills to fit the market needs; transparency in recruitment processes and lastly a change of mindset within young people to get closer to the entrepreneurial world.
It was an incredible inspiring and insightful event for Pablo and our organization! At Kaleidos, we hope we can collaborate even further with African communities and the integration of our tools with African users. We'll let you know more about our plans once they are further developed.
