Darya Smetanina - "Vesti. Weather" (04/11/14)
Darya Smetanina was born and raised in Nizhny Novgorod. She graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University. She is a linguist and teacher of English and German.
Until 2002, she worked on regional television. Together with her journalist friends, she created the program "Happy New Morning!" on the TNT channel. She hosted the "Useful News" section.
Daria Smetanina: "The program was very new, so I had to do everything myself: film reports, work in the studio, edit, write stories, and find interesting people. It was a good training ground for me."
In 2002, Darya moved to Moscow. Since September 2003, she has been presenting the weather forecast to viewers on the program "Good Morning, Russia!"
Daria Smetanina: "I love learning foreign languages. I recently became enchanted by Spanish. Now I devote all my free time to it. Admittedly, I hardly have any free time left. Besides work, I also have a family—a husband and a seven-year-old daughter."
