Ivan Goychev
Deputy Mayor of Sofia, "Digitalization and Innovation"

Ivan Goychev has over 20 years of management experience in the financial, airline, construction, and cloud industries. He managed the engineering teams of two startups which have successfully scaled into established international companies. As manager at Amazon AWS, he led teams across three continents developing high performance network monitoring software services. He served as the Chief Technology Officer of CoBuilder, a Norwegian company with a Bulgarian-based software team, developing a global platform aimed at efficient and greener construction industry. In his free time, he contributed as tech lead in Podkrepi.bg – a transparent open-source donation platform collectively developed by volunteers. In his new role as Deputy Mayor for Digitalization, Ivan Goychev believes that he can leverage his managerial and operational experience to help his colleagues at Sofia Municipality continue the development of the city with increasingly efficient systems and automated services for the benefit of the citizens.

Now that Ivan Goychev has seen both the private companies and public administration, he wants to share some insights of the differences and similarities(yes, there are such) in how each organization type ensures delivering high quality services. He will present some practical process examples of what works, what to avoid and what can be done better. He will including some counterintuitive advices backed by research to encourage those who might be hesitant to try. The topic is suitable for C-Level executives, managers and individual contributors at all levels.
